Equinox X650 Digital Night Vision offers next-level night vision capabilities with live streaming and recording features. Picture quality is a mixed bag, with some users finding it sharp enough, while others report it as not sharp. The setup process can be challenging due to a poorly done manual.

"The resolution and focus was not what I expected. Grainy image, no way to change color scheme. It wasn't Bushnell clarity. The second time I used it, the battery had drained despite having turned it off after only 20 minutes of use the first time."
"I love the view when it will turn on; however, I have tried multiple battery type and cannot get the monocular to turn on. So far, if I use brand new batteries it will not turn on, but if I use old (used up) batteries, it WILL turn on but then dies because they are almost dead."
"While the product seems fine, the manual is horrible and it took hours of trial and error to set it up. The first manual I downloaded from the Product Support section was dated 2021. I then found the one on this page which is 2024. It still says 4 AA batteries. It only takes 3 as the product page says. Some examples. It says to install the SD card with the metal contacts pointing down. They must be pointed up. Only fits one way. It says to press and hold the Power (N) button to enter the menu. That turns it off. You must press and hold the Mode (M) button to enter the menu settings. Says to press N button to go back to display. Nope, shuts it off. Need to use M again. Says pressing N will exit all menus and return you to normal view. Nope, shuts it off. I haven't figured out how to review and delete photos and videos. It doesn't work anything like described. Can't find Gallery. To delete press Down button. What Down button? Would really like some clarification please."
"I got this as I wanted a stand alone object viewer for viewing my livestock. It works decently and allows me to cut through the darkness. Pros: cost effective Built in illuminator Easy to use Cons:field of view is tiny Resolution is less then I expected"

"It's amazing how well this product works! I've been fine tuning settings that will allow for a sharper night picture, better focus and increased usefulness at night. The ability to take pictures and record video is an unexpected bonus. The only downside to this great piece of tech that I have discovered is that the veiwing field is narrower than I would like, but that is not enough for me to take away from a five star rating. It entertaining, impressive and useful. I highly recomend the X650!"

"Cons: Bushnell does not send a owners manual with the unit and it does have a learning curve. What is even more disgusting is that Bushnell assumes that everyone has acess to downloading owners manuals for their products, but on top of that their owners manual for this unit does not even match the unit. They tried to come up with a generic manual that is for more than one model and what's confusing is set-up steps in the generic manual does not even match the selecdtions. For the price the unit is a good short range unit of about 100 yards and less. I use rechargeable AA batteries in mine with good results and carry a extra set of batteries. I added a IR light to mine but it's still just a 100 year max unit so as to ID deer and coyotes. I bought this one so as I can scan without having to use the NV scoped rifle. Once I detect something with the monocular I'll go to the long range NV scoped rifle for a more positive ID. It does show animals eyes reflections really good. Bushnell needs to quit acting cheapo and start sending proper owners with their products. they are doing the same with their hunting scopes. One size fits all is not a good thing when it comes to owners manuals."

"The picture day or night is very clear, just remember to focus like you are using an SLR Camera or older video camera. I have Bushnell auto focus binoculars, this feature would be a great option, just not sure how it might work with IR. Read the manual prior to getting in the field. The buttons are multifunctional, while using gloves, they make it difficult to feel the buttons. We suggest that when using at night, set the display brightness down to 3 or 4 the factory setting is 8, which makes it a little bright caused our to take longer to readjust to the dark. (This is not a complaint simply what worked best for our eyes) In gallery mode, don’t expect to see picture icons that you select, this mode is simple individual video/picture viewer. Over all the Equinox X650 “EX650” is a great value, that provides preset . 50 zoom steps, excellent performance."
