A: No, the only reason you will need the power cord is if you choose to remove the solar panel from the camera to maximize the amount of sunlight directed at the solar panel. Out-of-the-box, the solar panel is connected to the top of the camera using two contact points built into the camera. Before deploying your CelluCORE 20 Solar, please remove the plastic between the camera and the solar panel.
A: The Solar panel will require to charge separately, completely detached from the camera for a day or two before deploying to correct the inaccuracies of the battery level readings.
A: We do recommend adding AA batteries to the camera. It will operate on the solar panel alone but bear in mind that the charging capacity is limited and may miss activity around your camera if it has already depleted the charge from the solar panel.
A: All of our CelluCORE cameras can install firmware updates over the air. Your camera will automatically install any firmware updates as long as your camera's battery is 50% or more.
A: The only data plan required for your cellular camera is the one you purchase through the Bushnell Trail Camera App.
A: Dual SIM means that your camera will automatically choose the strongest cellular signal in your area. There is no need for you to select a specific carrier.
A: Formatting SD cards removes any data that might have been previously stored on the SD Card. Even if the SD card is brand new, the card could contain data from the SD card's manufacturer.
A: Yes. After the first 30 Days of free data, if you wish not to purchase a cellular data plan for your camera, it will still capture images and video when motion is detected and save those files to your SD Card.
A: Each camera requires its own data plan, but multiple cameras can be managed using the same account.
A: The images sent initially to your phone are called 'Thumbnail Images'. Thumbnail Images are low-resolution images that can be quickly sent and referenced on your phone to ensure you have the best and most recent information possible.
A: The CelluCORE 20 Solar is compatible with SD cards up to 32GB.
A: The Image Overwrite setting on every CelluCORE camera allows the camera to make room on your SD Card for new images by automatically removing older pictures saved on your camera. If you prefer your camera not to remove images on its own, please update this setting.
A: The red light can be used during the initial setup to determine if the camera is capturing images. It will stop after the first few images so as not to spook any game.
A: Yes, you are able to cover that light, but please make sure that nothing is covering any part of the motion sensor. That light is there to let you know when the camera is using the network signal to transfer images to your phone.
A: It is ill-advised to use micro-SD cards in any Bushnell Trail Camera. We have found the full-size SANDISK brand SD cards are the most reliable.
A: Try reformatting your SD card using your computer. Sometimes, saved data can become corrupt over time and prevent the camera from working properly.
