Riflescopes Bear

Choosing the right optics to add to your hunting game is easy with Bushnell’s World-Class Options.

Whether you’re a professional or new enthusiast, it’s essential to stay updated on all the latest riflescope news and options for use when hunting big game, such as bears.

Hunting scopes for bear hunting are those with a lower power magnification for quick target acquisition and those made for low light conditions.

Several factors come into play when trying to determine the best magnification required for your hunt. The primary factor, however, is the size of your target. For bear hunting, you want a lower power magnification as it allows you to better track moving targets. Most hunters will stick with a magnification between 1x and 2x.

Another important factor is the time of day you’ll be hunting in. For bears, the ideal time to head out is early morning or even early evening, as this is when they are most likely to be out in search of food. That means you’ll want a hunting rifle scope that is built for low lighting, such as an illuminating hunting scope. A great example would be the Prime 3-9x40 Illuminated riflescope.

When choosing a riflescope for bear hunting, you want to, ideally, consider a model that is designed for short to mid-range shots. For example, while brand ambassador Travis Turner uses the Prime 3-9x40 Illuminated riflescope, Ted Nugent uses a different model, the Prime 3.9x40 riflescope. The major difference is that the illuminated riflescope comes with a built-in illuminator for low-lighting situations.

Is one model better than the other? It all comes down to the time of day you’ll be hunting bears. If you’re hunting during the day or early evening, you’ll likely be able to get by with the Prime 3.9x40 riflescope with little to no problem. However, if you’re planning on hunting during the early hours of the morning, you’ll likely want to go with the Prime 3.9x40 Illuminated riflescope. It will help adjust the brightness of the reticle and is ideal in low lighting conditions.
