MAXIMIZE TIME AFIELD WITH ACTIVSYNC

September 12, 2022

By nature, many of the game animals we pursue are crepuscular meaning they are most active during periods of twilight. Those last few minutes of daylight as evening becomes night and those first few minutes of the day when dawn becomes morning are prime periods for movement of deer, elk, and other game species.

As builders of optics, we understand well the challenges that presents when creating products that deliver the sharpest, brightest images during these critical hours.

One aspect of this is the ability to deliver easily readable information on an LCD readout for hunters using a rangefinder. The challenge is two-fold…during periods of bright light, the display must be able to be clearly read just as it should be easily seen in periods of log light.

In the past, this was often solved by hunters grabbing a range on a target and then tipping the optic skyward to gather more light and make the LCD readout visible. Obviously, we thought there had to be a better solution. And there is.

Enter the new ActivSync™ display.

The first of its kind ActivSync™ display technology fluidly morphs from black readouts against bright backgrounds to red readouts against dark ones, with infinitely variable tones.

AN EARLY START

In the field, the benefits of ActivSync™ start early.

Legal shooting hours often arrive before enough light for easy viewing of a conventional rangefinder’s readout. Since this also happens to be a time period when game species are most active, this lack of viewability during the first few minutes of legal shooting hours can lead to missed opportunities, or worse.

With ActivSync™ the system automatically detects the amount of light available and seamlessly adjusts the display to provide a bright, clear readout. In the low-light conditions of early morning, this means you’ll see the rangefinder’s readout clearly illuminated in red. The unit’s brightness will adjust the intensity of the display to be easily visible without blowing out your vision when taking your eye away from the optic.

The inclusion of the new ActivSync™ display to the FusionX binocular, Broadhead and Prime 1800 rangefinders gives hunters a tangible advantage by allowing for accurate ranging from the first moment legal shooting hours arrive.

MAKING EVERY MINUTE COUNT

Just as those first minutes of daylight in the morning tend to see a flurry of game activity, the final hours of the day can be just as promising. As the day winds down, light dwindles and game species become more active.

This when conventional rangefinders become ineffective. The units are still able to function…the amount of available light doesn’t impact the rangefinder’s ability to measure yardage. The issue comes from the user being able to see the yardage displayed because the rangefinder’s display becomes unreadable.

The ActivSync™ display handles this with ease by using an easy to read black display in bright conditions and transitioning to a red display that stands out against dark backgrounds in low light. This transition takes place instantly and automatically depending on light availability and, just as importantly, is variable so that the tone of the display allows for easy viewing without overpowering the image viewed in the optic.

ACCURATE, VIEWABLE READOUTS AT ALL TIMES

While much of the focus thus far has been on the first and last minutes of available daylight during legal shooting hours, the ActivSync™ is truly an all-day-long advantage. Just as important as total readability during low light conditions, is the ability to easily view yardages in the brightest part of the day which is typical during spot-and-stalk hunts in open country when the midday sun positions game in beds and creates the harshest lighting of the day.

Again, the ActivSync™ system automatically adjusts the display to provide the most easily viewed tone for the display possible.

From dawn to dusk and all hours in between, the ActivSync™ will help you make the most of every available minute of hunting time.
